Hadrat Bilal RA was one of the closest companions of the Prophet SAWS. He used to be a slave and were among the first to take the shahada. He had to go through lots of suffering and even torture, as his master was not a Muslim and he could not tolerate that his slave had converted to Islam. He was eventually bought free by hadrat Abu Bakr RA. Hadrat Bilal RA was also the first to give the call to prayers, adhan.
